Trick Distribution by Lead
About this tool (Overview)
Opening Lead Analyzer compares candidate opening leads against an assumed contract and reports expected tricks together with set probability. It supports both defensive lead selection and declarer-side risk awareness.
How to use
- Set the opening leader seat, contract, and number of simulations.
- Enter the leader's exact 13 cards, then set HCP/shape ranges for other seats.
- Compare Exp Tricks and Set Prob to choose the most practical opening lead.
Glossary
- Balanced Hand
- A shape of 4333, 4432, or 5332. Whether it includes five major cards depends on the agreed rules.
- Semi-balanced Hand
- A hand with no shorts or seven-card suits, and typically without a six-card major.
- Set Probability
- Probability of defeating the contract by at least one trick.
